Sooyeon Kim is a coloratura soprano who sings with rich emotions on stage and has a strong and loud sound. Born in South Korea, she completed her Bachelor of Music degree in 2022 at Yonsei University and currently pursuing for her Master of Music degree at The Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University in the studio of Ah young Hong.
She won second place at the 2017 Seoul Mayor’s Cup National Student Music Scholarship Competition, and she performed Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel at Joe Byrd Hall in Peabody and Maryland Hall in Annapolis Opera. She also visited Italy in 2017 and participated in the VIII Mask Festival to take a master class from Gian Luca Pasolini and she has been on stage twice during her time in the master class and She was praised by the organizer of the master class and by the audience who watched the stage.
