Sophia Liu is a 7th grader from Gaithersburg, Maryland. She fell in love with classical music while listening to classical music radio stations in her dad’s car. Bach, Mozart and Chopin filled her life with joy and purpose. Although she started her journey with the piano only a few years ago, it’s becoming an inspiration in her life to play as many beautiful pieces of music as possible. Sophia is studying under the guidance of Dr. Svetlana Volkova whom she admires and adores.
Sophia is a violinist in her middle school orchestra and she is also a chief intern for the Tacy foundation where she plays music at hospitals, retirement homes and community centers in supported housing facilities on the weekends.
