Sophie Chung, age 16, has been studying the piano under the guidance of Ms. Jenny Shin since the age of 6. Her commitment has led her to achieve success in various regional, national, and international competitions.
Sophie’s accolades include being a Semi-Finalist in the Virginia Waring Competition and winning First Prizes in competitions such as the Steinway Junior Piano Competition, The American Protégé International Piano Competition, The Glendale Piano Competition, First Prize at the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Competition Salzburg, the Classics Alive National Young Artist Audition, the Crescendo International Music Competition, the San Jose International Piano Competition, and the Grand Prize at the Korea Times Competition.
Additionally, she has secured top prizes in the Bradshaw Buono International Piano Competition, the LA International Young Musician Competition, the Kathrin Gawartin Chopin Competition, the LA Liszt International Piano Competition, and the Southern California Junior Bach Festival.
