Spencer Chaisanguanthum, age 14, is a student at The Dalton School in New York. He began studying oboe at age nine and currently studies under Setsuko Otake. He is the principal oboist of the New York InterSchool Orchestras (ISO) and a former member of the Chamber Music Center of New York’s Camerata Orchestra. Over the past three years, Spencer attended the summer programs at Manhattan School of Music and Kinhaven Music School and recently placed first in the Bellagrande International Music Competition (BIMC). To share his love of music with others, he is an active member of the Back to Bach Project, where he leads music presentations to schools across New York City.
