Stella Vachtanidou

Stella Vachtanidou was born on October 18th, 2006, in Thessaloniki Greece. She started taking piano lessons in Polichni’s Conservatory, with Penny Charalampidou. In 2016, at the age of 10 she took part in the Masterclass of the Music Academy “Arthur Rubinstein” with Michael Davidov, while she was chosen to perform at the final concert. At the same year, she won the third medal in the 1st Panhellenic Junior Piano Contest, as she did in the following year at the same competition. In 2017, she studied with Prof. Borislava Taneva and Daniela Andonova at Sofia’s Music Academy. Since then she has been taking private lessons with Prof. Taneva and Maestro Dimitris Toufexis. For 4 years in a row, (2016,2017,2018,2019) she participated in Thessaloniki’s Piano Festival with pianists: Dimitris Toufexis, Domna Evnouchidou, Eftichia Veniota, Nikos Zafranas, Evi Giamopoulou, Nikos Kyriosoglou, Charalampos Aggelopoulos. In 2017, she also won first prize in Viva Piano Competition, held in Sofia, Bulgaria. In the next year, 2018, she won the second medal and a special prize free-of-charge masterclasses in Greece at Valetta’s International Piano Competition. That year, she also participated in Balchik Classic Days with Prof. Taneva, where she was authoritatively invited. In 2019, she took part in the Orchestral Masterclass with Ioanna’s Sikkaki Conservatory’s Orchestra under Dimitris Toufexis. At the same year, she was chosen to perform at the charitable concert, given at Thessaloniki’s Music Hall “Little Stars In Concert”. In connection to that, on her own, she organized an online concert “Young Musicians VS Coronavirus”, where 7 kids from the original concert participated, in 2020. At the same year, she participated at a Seminar with Dimitris Toufexis, and she was selected by him to perform at a concert at Vafopouleio. In September 2021, she won the Second Medal in online competition “Pro Piano Competition” . In October 2021, she was admitted to Wales International Piano Festival, which was held in Caernarfon, after audition and she won the title of ”The Most Promising Young Pianist”.
