My name is Sun Hye Chung. I am a Master’s student studying Piano Performance at Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville.
I have studied for the past 24 years the art of music and piano, and also have experience with choirs in church music. My professional career includes multiple performances in orchestra, ensembles and concerts in countries such as the U.S., Germany, Austria, France, and South Korea.
I graduated from Seoul Theological University with a Master of Arts in Church Music. After a solo and orchestra tour in Europe, I wanted to see more of the world and study the art of piano in more depth. Thus began my journey to the United States. In August 2019, I entered Judson University and experienced US culture and church music through several choir accompaniment tours at the University Choir. I was accepted into the Master’s in Piano Performance program at SIUE in 2020, and I have been providing teaching and accompanying as a graduate assistant since. I plan to extend another year for second degree at SIUE to study collaborative piano with my piano professor in more depth and hope to apply to a Doctoral Music of Arts after graduation from SIUE.
