Sunho Lee is an 18-year-old rising senior from Belmont, Massachusetts, whose musical journey began at age five with the piano. Since then, he has cherished the instrument’s expressive depth, performing in recitals and cultivating a lasting love for classical music.
At eight, Sunho began studying the cello, drawn to its rich, lyrical tone. He currently plays in his school orchestra and the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (BPYO), where he continues to grow as an ensemble musician under the mentorship of Maestro Benjamin Zander.
Driven by a deep passion for music, Sunho pursues both piano and cello performance at a high level. He is especially inspired by the works of Franz Liszt and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, whose emotional depth and technical brilliance resonate with his artistic sensibility. In addition to performing, he studies music theory and composition to broaden his understanding of musical structure and expression.
For Sunho, music is more than a passion—it is a lifelong source of joy, comfort, and purpose. He hopes to keep it at the heart of his life wherever his journey takes him.
