Szu-Yin Lin

Szu-Yin Lin, a native of Taiwan, is currently a candidate of Doctor of Musical Arts at The Catholic University of America under the guidance of Dr.Ivo Kaltchev. As an active soloist and chamber musician, Ms.Lin has appeared in performances of Washington International Piano Series, Halle Euro Music Festival, Concert series of “Concert to Celebrate PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic” by Global Peace and Music Foundation, Young People’s Division concerts at Kaufman Music Center, and others. Ms.Lin’s performance has featured internationally at such venues as Carnegie Weil Recital Hall, Lincoln Center Bruno Walter Auditorium, The DiMenna Center, Merkin Hall and National Opera House in New York City; and National Recital Hall in Taipei and National Weiwuying Recital Hall in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Ms.Lin has been praised for her “excellent sense in music…especially the lyrical quality” by the piano virtuoso Alexandre Moutouzkine; the eminent piano virtuoso Arkady Aronov, who was Ms.Lin’s mentor while she was pursuing her Master degree at Manhattan school of music, described her as “a gifted pianist with bright artistic talent and brilliant technique… her playing also has a unique sincerity.” Ms.Lin received the first prize of the 2021 Concerto Competition at The Catholic University, and she was invited to perform with the Orchestra of The Catholic University and the conductor Simeone Tartaglione in 2022.
