
Tabitha Tio is an 8th grader at the Plaza Vista Middle School in Irvine, California. She began studying the cello at the age of eight, consistently completing the California Certificate of Merit with the highest honors every year. Tabitha has won various music competitions, including the Southwestern Youth Music Festival, Satori Summer Music Festival, and Musical Arts Competition of Orange County. Last year, she won the Gold Prize and Excellent Musicianship Special Award in the 2024 Season 2 Couperin International Music Competition, First Prize in the 2024 Pelican International Music Competition, and First Prize in the 2024 Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition, which awarded her the privilege of performing at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, California. This year, she won First Prize in the 2025 American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition and was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York. Tabitha also plays the piano.
