Tanvi Thatai

Tanvi Thatai a soprano studying Vocal Performance and Linguistics at Lawrence University. They are currently studying with Dr. Karen Leigh-Post. Recently, Tanvi has been involved in many performances, including the Lawrence’s Winter MainStage double-bill opera production of Cendrillon by Pauline Viardot and Alice Tierney by Melissa Dunphy and Jacqueline Goldfinger, where they performed the role of La Fée in Cendrillon. Tanvi has been a semi-finalist for multiple years in the Wisconsin NATS competition, and was also honored to have been selected as a finalist for the 2024 Schubert Club Competition. Tanvi has been a soprano soloist in multiple major works at Lawrence, including Fauré’s Requiem and This Love Between Us by Reena Esmail. Growing up learning Carnatic vocal music (South Indian classical music), Tanvi is passionate about singing across multiple styles, genres, and languages.
