
Jason is a junior studying at Milton Academy located around Boston, Massachusetts. Originally from Shanghai, China, Jason started studying piano since he was 5 years old, receiving Certificate of Art Level 10 from the Shanghai Musicians’ Association at the age of 12. He has previously performed in the Shanghai Grand Theatre with New Shanghai Orchestra, and is now a frequent guest soloist and mentor for NSO.
Jason’s passion and dedication to classical saxophone in recent years has earned him multiple achievements, including winner of the 40th New England Saxophone Competition. Jason served as principal alto saxophone for the 2023 and 2024 Massachusetts All-State Symphonic Band and continues his music education at New England Conservatory Prep School, where he serves as principal saxophone in Sr. MYWE(Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble). Jason studies with Shen Chang from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Kenneth Radnofsky from New England Conservatory. In school, Jason is an avid soloist, composer, and arranger for the chamber orchestra, where his original orchestral arrangements have been featured in concerts. Jason also frequently performs in chamber groups and aims to promote saxophone in the classical music setting.
