
Tenor Tito Jose Gutierrez earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal performance at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College CUNY. During his time at Queens College he studies voice under the tutelage of H. Roz Woll, and has more recently studied with the voice teacher Terence Goff. His operatic appearances include the roles of Alfred in Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus,” Basilio and Curzio in Mozart’s “Le Nozzle di Figaro,” Monostatos in Mozart’s “Die Zauberflote,” Goro in Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly,” and most recently as Orimeno in Francesco Cavalli’s “L’Erismena.” He is currently a member of the New York Continuo Collective where he performs the early music works of such composers as Purcell, Michelangelo Rossi, and John Eccles. Besides his work in Classical / Baroque performance, Tito is also an avid performer of traditional Dominican Merengue music. Tito also holds a Master’s Degree in Musicology from ACSM Queens College Cuny.
