Tony Chen, 12, lives in Cary, North Carolina, with his mom Yanqiong, dad Dongliang, and brother Simon. He has studied piano for four years with Olga Urick and treasures her guidance. His honors include first prize in the 2025 Carmel Klavier Intermediate B1 Solo, second prize in the NCFMC Prince Category State Royalty, and Highest Honors at the 2025 NCMTA Senior B State Competition. Tony has performed at renowned venues such as The Palladium at The Center for the Performing Arts in Indiana and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York, along with appearances at local community centers. Through music, he has learned that patience, perseverance, and learning from mistakes are key to growth. Inspired by his family and teachers, Tony hopes to continue developing as a pianist and to share the joy of music with others.
