
Tsz Ching Lau started playing saxophone at the age of nine under the tutelage of Dr. Tak Chiu Wong, Mr Chan Chung Ho Jeffrey and Mr Yiu Mun Kin. Lau is currently a second year master student in Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University Bloomington, majoring in Saxophone Performance. She is studying at the studio of Dr. Otis Murphy. Lau attained LTCL for saxophone performance and ABRSM Grade 8 Theory.
Lau participated in some major workshops and master classes including Asia Pacific Saxophone Academy 2019, the Hong Kong International Saxophone Symposium, master classes conducted by Dr. Timothy McAllister, Dr. Stephen Page, Dr. Kenneth Tse, Professor Joshua Hyde and Habanera Saxophone Quartet. Lau was also actively participating in competitions. She gained the first prize in The “Golden Classical Music Awards” International Competition in 2021 and 3rd prize in the Hong Kong Music Talent Award 2020, Open Class (Woodwind). She also received Honorable mention for outstanding music performance in Hong Kong Baptist University Honour Roll 2020.
Lau earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Studies (First Class) from Hong Kong Baptist University, majoring in saxophone.
