Ever since Tyler began playing the trombone, his passion for music blossomed and wanted to learn more about the trombone. Later in his high school years, Tyler was inspired by orchestral masterworks such as; Mahler, Hindemith, Ravel, and Schostakovich and knew that he wanted to play in a big
orchestra for a living. Tyler chose FAU to pursue a B.M in trombone performance and began studying with Dr. Jose Leon. From that point on Tyler became even more inspired and kept learning more about the trombone and its
versatility. Currently, Tyler holds the Utility Trombone position in the Orchid City Brass Band, and has won two competitions at FAU, the concerto and aria competition in 2022 and the composition competition in 2023. After he graduates, Tyler plans on getting a Masters in Bass Trombone performance so that he can continue learning more about this magnificent instrument.
