My name is Tyler Wang and I have been playing piano since age four. I just finished fourth grade at Village Elementary School in Syosset, New York. I received a perfect score on my level six NYSSMA solo at the Jericho Piano Festival this past March and I was recommended to apply to perform in the NYSSMA piano showcase held in Rochester, NY in December 2023. In my six year window of beginning the piano, I have performed for the Concert Festivals International Competition where I was a two-time grand prix winner earning the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall. I also placed second in the festival and performed at Lincoln Center. At Village Elementary School, I participate in orchestra, band, and chorus. I play the flute in the band and the violin in orchestra. I am also a member of the advanced string ensemble which performs at various special events throughout the school year. I have proven myself to be a true leader in all of our performing ensembles at Village Elementary School.
