Valery Berenshtein

Valery Berenshtein

I was exposed to classical music from birth, coming from a family of violinists, pianists, and conductors. I began taking voice lessons at 11 years old, training and specializing in classical technique and opera. Throughout middle school and high school, I sang in select choirs (4x Bergen County Choir, 4x Regional Choir, 3x All-State Choir, 1x All National Choir), performed in opera-scene programs, won international opera competitions, and more. I went on to sing at Emory University, auditioning and joining its select chamber choir, which performed a wide variety of sacred and secular repertoire from the Middle Ages to the present. I was the soprano soloist for Gabriel Faure’s Requiem and held many smaller solo roles throughout my college years. I was also an active volunteer at the Glenn Memorial Church Choir and continue to volunteer in local church choirs during holidays.
