Violet Grace Lorish

Violet Lorish, 15, started her music experience at age 9. Her current studies include private lessons and theory classes with Lee Taylor, violinist with Atlanta Ballet Orchestra and Tallahasse Symphony Orchestra; piano lessons with Emory artist Dr. Matthew Brower; masterclasses with assistant professor of violin at Florida State University College of Music Dr. Shannon Thomas; musicianship coaching with performance artist cellist Jenn Cornell. Violet performed in a string quartet coached by Atlanta Ballet violist Kristeen Sorrels. For two years, Violet studied improvisation and electric violin techniques with composer, violinist and producer Paul Mercer. With Mercer, Violet recorded music for Juliet Landau’s film, “A Place Among The Dead.”

Violet is a member of the Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra (2020) and the Emory Youth Chamber Music Program (2019-2021). She was also a member of the the Atlanta Junior Chamber Orchestra (2018-2020) and Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra (2016-2018). Violet spent three summers with the Atlanta Chamber Music Festival summer program where she served as concertmaster and attended the American String Teachers Association summer program.
