Vivian Yu started playing cello at the age of 9 when she was first introduced with the cello instrument at school. Vivian instantly fell in love with the deep rich sound of the cello and became an avid player. At age 10, Vivian joined The Capitol Symphonic Youth Orchestras (TCSYO), and this year at age 11, she joined American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras (AYPO) as a principal of the cello section in the Debut Orchestra. Vivian continues to challenge herself, and she will continue to express herself and connect with others through music. There’s no doubt that this is just the beginning to her musical journey.
