Wei Chen

Wei Chen is a pianist and piano teacher from China. He is a student of Prof. Inge Rosar at the “International J. S. Bach Academy in Memoriam Walter Blankenheim “. He has studied Bach, Mozart, Chopin and others with her, and has taken part in many of the Academy’s professional seminars on Bach’s works. He studied piano performance in Switzerland and attended classes with professors from Musik-Akademie der Stadt Basel, Hochschule der künste Bern, Conservatoire de Lausanne and Geneva Conservatories and Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, such as Prof. Tobias Schabenberger, Prof. Tomasz Herbut, Prof. Pirre Goy, Prof. Karl-Andreas Kolly and others.

Currently, Wei is studying for a Master’s degree at the Centre for Performance Science at the Royal College of Music in London, where he is focusing on performance psychology and pedagogy, with a particular emphasis on practice and memory strategies. After completing this degree, he will continue his second master’s degree in piano performance at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.

He also has extensive and unique experience in the field of piano teaching and can address students’ problems in a very focused and creative way. He has won the first prize in a teaching skills competition at South China Normal University. The HongKong International Music Association(IMA)has honoured him with the title of “Excellent Piano Teacher Of International”.

He has received a number of awards including:
