
William Alexander Sprakties, a sophomore residing in Yorktown, VA, has studied and performed on piano along with guitar and percussion all over the country as a son of military parents. William started piano lessons at four years old and has performed in recitals in Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia, and New York. He received numerous superior rating at solo competitions in New York under the tutelage of Chris Davis. Since moving to Virginia in 2023, in addition to performing as solo keyboard with his high school band, he is pianist with the Peninsula Youth Orchestra’s select chamber ensemble. William’s guitar and percussion skills are equal to his piano skills. As a guitarist he has performed with the 77th Army Band’s Rock Band in Oklahoma and performed as lead guitar with rock bands in Virginia Beach, VA and El Paso, TX. He is also a versatile percussionist currently serving as principal percussionist of the Peninsula Youth Orchestra and is a member of the Grafton High School Marching Band’s undefeated drum line. In addition, he was selected for the 2023 and 2024 Virginia All -District Band.
