William Jiang, from Richmond, VA, is currently a 6th grade student. He began his piano study at the age of 7. Since then he has participated in regional RMTA festivals and has won in 2020 (Sonata) and 2021 (Bach). Most recently William won 1st place in 2024. From summer 2023, he started learning from teacher Ruta Smedina-Starke and has been enjoying playing both classic and contemporary music. Besides playing piano, William also enjoys playing French Horn in his Moody Middle School band.
