
Dr. Xinyu Zhang, a native of China, graduated from George Mason University in the DMA program concentrating on Piano Performance. She was trained to play piano at the age of five. She completed her Bachelor of Music in piano performance at Xinghai Conservatory of Music and studied with Mr. Ningwu Du, a famous Chinese pianist and composer. Upon her arrival in the United States in 2011, Xinyu began her studies with Fr. Sean Duggan at the SUNY-Fredonia, completing her Master’s degree in piano performance. After finishing her master’s degree, she has been a faculty member of the Department of Piano at the School of Music, Anhui Normal University, China. Xinyu Zhang was the prize winner of numerous Chinese competitions including Kayserburg Competition, Irmler Competition, and Changjiang Competition. She has performed in numerous recitals as a soloist and with chamber music ensembles during her piano studies.
