A native of Korea, soprano Ye Ji Lee is a first-year Doctoral student in voice performance at Florida State University, with a generous Edith S. Joel Opera Scholarship. In Fall 2021, she will be performing Pamina of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte in Florida State Opera.
She Made her professional operatic role debut as Barbarina in the BPO Opera Theatre Le Nozze di Figaro. She also won and performed Gretel of the opera Hänsel und Gretel, produced by the Sungnam Cultural Foundation, Korea.
She received her Bachelor’s degree from Kyung Hee University with first-class honor in voice performance.
During her studies at the Eastman School of Music for her Master’s degree, she performed Mademoiselle Silberklang in Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor and won the first prize in the 16th annual FEO competition. She also won first place at the NATS competition Eastern region in 2019.
