Yi Wang

Yi Wang, from China, is currently a Doctor of Musical Arts degree student at The University of Iowa under Dr. Alan Huckleberry. Yi is a piano teaching assistant for individual and group piano lessons, as well as a collaborative pianist at the University of Iowa. She received her Master’s degree and Performance Diploma from Manhattan School of Music, studied with Dr. Sinkevych. Yi Wang won the First Prize in the 2021 European Music Competition and Bronze Award in the 2021 World Piano Teachers Association of Finland. She was the winner of Asian Piano Competition (2014) and Third Place of Hong Kong International Liszt Piano Competition (2012). Yi has given numerous piano recitals in New York, New Jersey, Iowa, Shanghai, Beijing, and Qingdao. Yi has been playing the piano for more than 20 years. During those years, she studied under many different teachers from all over the world. Yi is not only interested in classical music but also contemporary music. She joined a lot of contemporary music ensembles in New York.
