Yisong Wan

From a young age, music has captivated me, largely due to the influence of my exceptional piano teachers, Liz Norris and Olena Klyucharova. Their guidance unveiled the beauty and exhilaration of piano playing. At the tender age of six, I embarked on learning the cello under the tutelage of Mark Norris—a patient and encouraging mentor. His tutelage was instrumental in fostering my passion for the cello, allowing me to channel my emotions through music. My musical journey has been adorned with various accolades, including a second-place finish at the Ontario Music Festival Association Competition in piano and a distinguished honorable mention in cello. Presently, I am engaged in mastering level 9 of the Royal Conservatory of Music for both piano and cello. In recent years, I’ve discovered a deeper affinity for the cello’s unique tone and color, a preference that enriches my musical expression without diminishing my reverence for the piano’s splendor.
