
Yugo Furukawa Wu is a 9th grader at BASIS Independent Brooklyn in New York City. He started learning piano at the age of five under the guidance of Ida Kremchanskaya.
In June 2022, he participated in the Philadelphia International Music Festival Piano Studies and was coached by the faculties, Svetlana Smolina and Mark Livshits. In 2023, he attended the Manhattan School of Music Summer Program and was coached by Mina Kusumoto and Robert Hidalgo. Yugo is currently attending Manhattan School of Music Precollege Program. He received several prizes from online international competitions by performing his repertoires composed by Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Beethoven. Besides piano, Yugo enjoys studying science at school, playing guitar, and practicing karate.
