Yunqiu Xu

Yunqiu Xu is a Chinese pianist born into a musical family where she grew up surrounded by classical music. Ms. Xu began her classical training at an early stage in her childhood, and since then, she has been regularly invited to play solo recitals in her hometown. At a young age, Ms. Xu was awarded numerous international prizes, such as the winner of the San Jose International Piano Competition in the Intermediate Category and the exclusive scholar of the Vienna International Academy of Young Pianists Scholarship. In 2018, Yunqiu was the winner of the concerto part of the CIA International Artist Competition, and the same year, she collaborated with the CNJ orchestra and performed the Beethoven Piano Concerto No.4 in Merklin Concert Hall. She got bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Manhattan School of Music with Alexandre Moutouzkine and currently pursuing her DMA at the University of Kansa with Dr. Scott Smith. Aside from her academic achievements, Ms.Xu also gives back to her community by participating in chamber music and collaborating with the pre-college department in Tianjin Juilliard School as a staff pianist.
