Zaliah Kumaran

Zaliah, age 13, originally from New York and now residing in Carolina Forest, SC developed a passion for violin since age 5. She has attended Pre-College Manhattan School of Music studying under Isaac Malkin for two years, Lucy Moses School and Third Street Music Ina Litera for four years and was one of the youngest violinists accepted into the prestigious youth Chamber Music Center of New York (CMC). After relocating due to Covid-19, Zaliah now plays with the Long Bay Youth Symphony in South Carolina. She has performed violin six times at Weill Recital Hall.
A dedicated performer, Zaliah travels with her violin even on vacations and took her instrument to France and Switzerland, and attends summer camp at the Luzerne Music Center, in New York in the beautiful Adirondacks. She hopes to one day be a recording artist. She is now taught by Samantha Siva – smooth jazz recording artist. She recently came 2nd place in the Junior Division in American Protege International Piano and Strings and is performing in Carnegie Hall in November 2023. She recently won distinction in the Long Bay Youth Symphony Concerto Competition in South Carolina, performing as the youngest of four concerto High School competition winners in the April 2023 Concerto.
