Zedric Wong

I started my music journey at 5 when I was in my last year of kindergarten. I know it might sound a little facetious, but it is all genuine and true that it starts with a TV commercial with a violinist playing “Ah! vous dirai-je, maman” (one of the variations is “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”) which draws my attention every time it played, and I asked my parents what this is and can I play, and the rest is history.

Currently, besides being a freshman in Diablo Vista High School, I am a student at San Francisco Conservatory of Music, under the pre-college program since 2019 (5th Grade) for my violin studies, (Current Teacher/Faculty: Mr. Eric Chin), and a member of their String Orchestra since 2019. I have attained ABRSM Grade 8 Violin Performance with Distinction in early 2021 when I was 11, and the Trinity ATCL for Violin Performance with Merit a year after.

I was the soloist for my middle school (Tassajara Hills Elementary) Winter Concert in 2019 and have been the concertmaster for Diablo Vista Middle School’s symphonic orchestra and chamber orchestra, and performed as the soloist for the school’s Winter and Spring Concerts since 7th grade in 2021/22 and 2022/23. At the same time, I was the teaching assistant for the concert orchestra for Diablo Vista Middle School during 2022/23, which helped me strengthening my fundamentals by teaching and sharing my loves in classical music, together with my best partner “Amber” (my violin).

In the coming 2023/24 season, I will also be a member of the Youth People’s Symphony Orchestra under the First Violin section which I am looking forward to play with some like-minded young musicians who we will be performing together, learn and excel while create some beautiful music as we continue in our music journey.
