Chinese soprano Zhengyingyue (Elaine) Huang holds a BA in Music Education from the East China Normal University and an MM in Vocal Performance from the Temple University. She is currently pursuing her DMA in Voice Performance at The University of Kansas under professor Joyce Castle. She has been an apprentice with Russia International Art Festival in Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Russia, San Miguel Institute of Bel Canto in Mexico, LAH-SOW Minneapolis opera and the Crittenden Opera Workshop in the U.S.A. Her past roles include Baba in The Medium, Nanetta in Falstaff, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Frasquita in Carmen, Cio-Cio-san in Madama Butterfly, 2nd Witch in Dido and Aeneas, Mutter in Hänsel und Gretel, second lady in The Magic Flute, Mrs. Gobineau in The Medium. Ms. Huang collaborated with other young artists and mentors in concert, masterclasses, and recitals. She has presented recitals and performed in numerous major cities including Shanghai (China), San Miguel(Mexico), Moscow(Russian), Philadelphia (U.S) and Lawrence (U.S). Ms. Huang has performed in various venues such as Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium, Shanghai Grand Theatre. She has participated in a variety of music festivals and competitions and has won top prizes. A new music enthusiast and champion, she has premiered works by several composers. She will recently participate in the world premiere of chamber opera Snow Angel. Ms. Huang has also participated in a large number of masterclasses from various professors. In addition to opera, she has been working as the pianist in Tyrolean International Piano Academy, Innsbruck, Austria. As a passionate educator, she has been teaching voice and piano lessons both in China and the United States for over 8 years. Ms. Huang is an active member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and the National Association of Teachers of Singing(NATS).
