Amber (Zijia) Cao is a 7th grader at Solon Middle School in Solon, Ohio, USA. She first started piano lessons when she was 6 years old, and currently has been playing for 7 years. Currently, she is studying with Dr. Allen Yueh, who is a music theory and piano professor at the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM). At age 11, she won first place in the American Fine Arts Festival. At age 12, she also won Honorable Mention in the MTNA Ohio competition.
Amber likes science and doing math. She is in her school’s
Science Olympiad team which has won 8 first place National titles as a team since 2008.
