
Zijing Guo, an acclaimed pianist known for her emotive performances and profound musicality, has garnered recognition across prestigious venues worldwide. Praised by Dr. Inesa Sinkevych, Co-Head of Manhattan School of Music’s Piano Department, for her recent solo recital, Guo captivated audiences with a rendition described as imbued with “a sense of security.” and commended her playing for the sensitivity, and thoughtfulness, and remarkable stylistic understanding, underlining her secure technical control. She was selected as a contract artist of Hemiola.
Guo is a distinguished musician, and her accolades include winning the Platinum Prize and the Poetic Artistic Musical Genius Special Prize at the Global Genius Music Competition. She was also a First Prize Winner at the Golden Classical Music Awards Competition, and she performed at the renowned Carnegie Hall. Additionally, she clinched the First Prize in the Youth Group at “The 7th International Young Pianist Invitational Competition” in China and secured the Platinum Medal at the Grand Metropolitan International Music Competition in 2021. Her excellence was further recognized with the Bronze Awards at both the WPTA Finland International Piano Competition and the Singapore International Chinese Art Festival Piano Competition.
Guo’s performances have been featured at the Shanghai Music Festival and other notable venues, including a well-received rendition of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 18 at “Manhattan in the Mountain” as a guest artist at the opening concert lecture hosted by Dr. Jeffrey Langford. She has demonstrated her mastery at prestigious venues like Steinway Hall in New York City, as well as solo recitals at Greenfield Hall, Miller Hall, the Bloomingdale School of Music, and Imperial College London in Singapore. Guo has also demonstrated her versatility, engaging audiences with captivating renditions in various ensemble settings, including Woodwinds Ensemble, Piano Quartet, and Piano Duo, performances at Miller Hall, Gusman Hall, and Greenfield Hall.
Guo is a highly educated musician, who earned both her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from the Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Dr. Joanne Polk is a renowned luminary who has been recognized among the top 30 professionals of the year 2014 by Musical America. Guo’s academic pursuits and performances are dedicated to highlighting the works of female composers such as Cécile Chaminade, Clara Schumann, Fanny Mendelssohn, and Amy Beach, alongside in-depth studies in the History of Symphony and Opera. With an insatiable thirst for knowledge, Guo delves into the music theory of the 20th Century under the guidance of esteemed mentors Dr. Jeffrey Langford and Dr. Reiko Füting. She hones her chamber music skills under the mentorship of Mr. William Wolfram and Mr. Alexandre Moutouzkine. Guo’s formative years were spent at The Affiliated High School of Tianjin Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Prof. Qiyuan Dai.
Looking ahead, Guo is set to embark on her doctoral journey at the Frost School of Music, University of Miami, under the mentorship of Prof. Santiago Rodriguez, a distinguished silver medalist in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. With an unwavering commitment to her craft, Guo is poised to continue her trajectory of artistic excellence, enriching her performance repertoire and contributing to the classical music.
