My name is Charlotte Kong. I am currently 16 years old and I am studying in King’s College. I started playing guzheng in 2013 and got distinction in my grade 10 exam.
I also play other instruments like piano and completed my ARSM exam in 2020 and got merit.
Before coming to New Zealand, I participated in several competitions and got gold medals for every single one of them. In 2017, I joined the 13th worldwide Guzheng gathering series activity and won first place in the youth group. Recently, I have joined the 1st and the 2nd online competition of guzheng worldwide ‘starlight angel’ and won ‘the brighter star’ which is equal to silver awards in both competitions. I have also won the ‘gold prize’ for the KJC Asian international Art Festival for Guzheng in the Youth group.
I have also been doing performances with the The Hundred Flowers Art Troupe for the Moon festivals, the New Year festivals and many more. I have also cooperated with the symphony orchestra and played the first movement of the Identity in their prize giving.
