Formed in the autumn of 2022, the Chickling Quartet is comprised of members Ariel Mualim, Chloe Gil, Kyle Chiu, and Lucas Chu. The group was formed out of a love of chamber music by teachers and coaches Dr. Jiyeon Shin and Ms. Kristin Chai who felt the need to show their students that the true joy of playing an instrument is to play with others and make music together. Soon after the first few coachings the four members of the violin quartet became close friends and have since continued to explore the repertoire written for four violins. Ariel is a sixth grader at Orchard Hills Middle School, Chloe is a sixth grader at Beacon Park Middle School, Kyle Chiu is a seventh grader at Jeffrey Trail Middle School, and Lucas is an eighth grader also at Jeffrey Trail Middle School. Ariel, Chloe, and Lucas are students of Dr. Jiyeon Shin, and Kyle is a student of Ms. Kristin Chai.
