
Chanyoung You is a 16-year old junior attending Branham High School in San Jose, California, and he has played clarinet for around 5 years. Chanyoung has been part of many ensembles and bands such as marching bands, concert bands, California All-State Band , and he used to be part of the SJYS orchestra as well. Additionally, he is also a member of the nonprofit music organization AYM (Almaden Youth Musician). He is currently serving as the director of the mentee-mentor program in that organization, which sets up free private lessons between experienced high school musicians and younger musicians who may not be fortunate enough to afford expensive private lessons. Chanyoung’s other passions besides music include playing sports such as swimming and tennis.
Woobin Jang, 15, is a sophomore at Valley Christian High School in San Jose, California and has played the clarinet for five years. During the five years, he’s been involved in numerous bands including symphonic, marching, and jazz bands. He’s a member of the SJYS and used to be a member of the CYS. He’s also been involved in volunteer/non profit orchestras such as AYM, HCYO, and KAMSA. He’s won multiple competitions such as King’s Peak International Music Competition in 2024, San Francisco International Innovative Music Competition in 2023 and 2024, IYMC in 2024, etc. He gives back his musical talent by giving free lessons to an elementary school student. Outside of music, Woobin likes to CAD parts online and print them on his 3D printer.
Pianist, Jason Soomin Ham, is 14 year old freshman attending Valley Christian High School (VCHS). He is part of the Almaden Youth Musicians (AYM), the Bello Ensemble, and the VCHS chamber ensemble. He has participated in several benefit concerts as well as senior center performances for AYM and Bello Ensemble. In the past two years, he has worked with violins, cellos, clarinets, and flutes. Outside of ensemble, he has won competitions such as the American Youth Music Talent International Competition, Silicon Valley Philharmonic Music Competition, Salzburg International Competition, San Francisco International Innovative Music Competition, United States Open Music Competition, United States International Music Competition, the Northern California Young Talent Competition, and the Manhattan International Music Competition. When not playing piano, he enjoys playing the drums, participating in Boy Scouts, traveling, and spending time with his Goldendoodle Kona.
