
Chloe Yang, currently a ninth grader at Orange County School of the Arts, began her musical journey at the age of five with the piano, and took up the flute at eleven.
She has won 1st place in the junior category from the San Diego Flute Guild. Notably, Chloe has served as the principal flutist of the Pacific Symphony Youth Concert Band and performed at Carnegie Hall, NYC during the National Band & Orchestra Festival in 2023.
Additionally, she has participated in ensembles such as the Southern California Symphonic Band, Chamber Music OC, and Junior Chamber Music. Currently, she studies with Benjamin Smolen, principal flutist of the Pacific Symphony.
Connor Shim is currently in the 9th grade at Canyon High School. He has been studying the Oboe since he was nine years old, as a student of Eundo Lee and Ted Sugata. Discovering the oboe a few months after he started playing the piano, he won first prize in the Orange County Musical Arts Competition. He enrolled in the National Young Maestro Competition and won grand prize in addition to first prize. He then went on to win first place and special prize in the Golden Classical International Music Competition, placing first and receiving a special prize in the Grand Prize Virtuoso Vienna Competition the following year. Currently, he is the Principal Oboist of the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra.
Jaden Shim is 13 years old and from Irvine, California. He began playing the piano at the age of 6 under the guidance of Young-Sook Kang. Over the past 5 years, Jaden has actively participated in numerous piano competitions. In 2023, Jaden made his Carnegie Hall debut as a 1st place winner in the American Protege International Piano & Strings Competition. Additionally, he achieved 1st prize at the Pelican International Competition, 2nd place at the Open Satori Young Pianist Competition, and 3rd Place at the Amici Chamber Music Competition. Furthermore, he attained a gold medal at the MTAC Theme Festival. More recently, Jaden was awarded a regional winner at the Southern California Junior Bach Festival and received a silver medal at the Concordia Keyboard Day. In the upcoming fall, he will be enrolling in the Pianist program at Orange County School of the Arts.
