
Daniel Perez, a Cuban-American flutist based in Florida, is pursuing his Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance at Florida Atlantic University studying with Professor Elissa Lakofsky. Notably, Daniel served as principal flute in a youth orchestra that won first place in an international orchestra competition in Prague, Czech Republic, and Vienna, Austria in 2023.
Yu-Chieh Yen, a Taiwanese pianist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Taipei, taught piano at Qingshui Elementary School and Kung Kuan Elementary School from 2020 to 2023. She has also worked as a piano teacher for the renowned music education brands Yamaha and Kawai in Taiwan. Currently, she is advancing her studies in piano performance at the master’s level at Florida Atlantic University under the guidance of Dr. Irena Kofman.
Daniel Perez and Yu-Chieh first started playing together in the spring of 2024, discovering a natural connection in their music-making. Their collaboration quickly gained recognition, earning them the Hollywood Music Club Solo Competition Grant later that year.
Now preparing for a recital on December 5th, Daniel and Yu-Chieh are refining their repertoire and deepening their musical partnership. They share a passion for chamber music and look forward to continuing their collaboration.
