Everest Li and Miya Suen

Everest Li and Miya Suen

I have been playing the saxophone since 6th grade. Immediately I fell in love with the instrument and was extremely motivated to learn and be the best I could be. I soon found myself making the first chair spot in my district Honor Band and the first chair spot in Georgia’s All State Band the following year. I proceeded to consistently place first chair in both Honor Band and the All State Band for the following years. In my sophomore year of high school I auditioned for the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony and received the first chair spot. This program has helped me achieve numerous accomplishments like performing in Carnegie Hall. I have also had the honor to attend and perform in many masterclass’ with elite saxophonists such as Dr. Timothy McAllister and Professor Taimur Sullivan.
My collaborative artist, Miya Suen, is a professor at the University of North Georgia School of Music and a former collaborative pianist at the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University.
