The featured performers of this ensemble have grown up as close friends since their time learning percussion as 6th graders. Their friendships are further strengthened by their shared passion for music. This ensemble is the top, premier ensemble of the West Mesquite High School percussion program. We also perform in multiple other ensembles throughout the year as well, such as marching band, jazz bands, concert bands, orchestras. The West Mesquite percussion program has enjoyed competitive success in drumline and band contests in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and, particularly, this ensemble features two Texas Music Educator’s Association (TMEA) All-State Percussionists. We love getting to perform for others and share our music, as well as competing with others! The performers have had the same percussion instructor, Mr. Dan Dudney, since 6th grade.
