Praised for their “cohesive energy, intelligent musicality, and technical prowess”, Trio Riva’s members have extensive experience as chamber musicians performing in Asia, Europe, North, South, and Central America. They have played in prestigious halls including Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York and Seoul National Theatre in South Korea. Trio Riva made their debut in Italy at the Sala Lunga at Palacio di Piobbico and also performed at the Palazzo Ducale di Urbino.
The trio has worked directly with composers including receiving coachings from Pulitzer Prize Winner Ellen Taaffe Zwilich. Most recently, they have played for chamber series such as University of South Florida’s Rutenberg Chamber Music Series and Thomasville Center for the Arts Fridays at Noon. They have also been featured on WFSU Public Media Radio and have been placed in competitions such as Music Teachers National Association Young Artist String Ensemble Competition and NOLA Chamber Fest. The trio has enjoyed engaging with the local community through playing and presenting at local middle and high schools such as Cross Creek Elementary School and Thomasville High School.
Future engagements include a performance at Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall and a tour in Brazil. Trio Riva’s members are doctoral graduate teaching assistants at Florida State University.
