Dr. Ines Mula Garrido is a classically trained pianist and piano educator whose career spans conservatories in Madrid and concert stages in New York, and whose studio has produced award-winning performers on the international competition circuit.
Training & Artistry
Dr. Mula Garrido’s musical training began at the Conservatory of Music of Amaniel in Madrid, Spain, where she earned her Professor Degree in Piano in 1993, followed a year later by her Professor Degree in Music Instruction, Theory of Music, Transposition, and Accompaniment. She went on to complete an Advanced Professor Degree with a specialty in Musical Pedagogy at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid in 2000. In October 2023, her artistry was formally recognized with the Diploma in Piano Performance from the Albéniz Institute of Music, presented at Steinway Hall in New York.
Her early career combined performance with teaching: as organist, singer, and piano instructor at Juan Carlos I University in Madrid, she prepared and performed choral works in Spanish, German, English, French, and Italian, and accompanied choir rehearsals and performances throughout Spain and Europe. As a music teacher at the Escuela Municipal de Música de Pozuelo de Alarcón in Madrid, she taught piano, music theory, and composition to students from beginner level, applying Kodály and Orff methodologies to build creativity and musical literacy. During this period, she also coached graduate and undergraduate pianists for recitals, competitions, and juries, prepared students for ABRSM examinations, and accompanied conservatory students in voice lessons, juries, and recitals.

Today, Dr. Mula Garrido runs a private piano recital studio, guiding students from their very first lessons through advanced, competition-level performance. Her work as a piano pedagogue, music director, and adjudicator has earned wide recognition on the international stage, including:

Dr. Mula Garrido’s students have gone on to earn top honors at some of the most competitive stages in the country. Her studio’s pianists have won first-place and grand-prize awards at, among many others, the Apex International Music Competition, the Global Talent Show, the Huaxia International Piano Open Competition, the VIVO International Music Competition, the New York Young Virtuoso Competition, the Charleston International Music Competition, and the Young Artists International Premiere Competition — with additional podium finishes at the Camerata Artists International Competition, the Young Maestro International Competition, the Piano Star International Competition, and the Thomas F. Hulbert International Piano Competition.
Her students have performed at some of the nation’s most storied concert stages, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Kimmel Center, the Kaufman Music Center, and Steinway Hall. Most recently, one of her students was selected to the National Youth Orchestra of the USA (NYO2), one of the most competitive and prestigious training orchestras in the country, earning a place to perform at Carnegie Hall and on tour in the Dominican Republic — a testament to the caliber of training and mentorship that defines Dr. Mula Garrido’s studio.
