About Jessie Massoudi
As a working performer in the Los Angeles area, I have played leading roles in many operas and musicals. I recently enjoyed my Off-Broadway debut in NYC as Janine in “Gunfight at the Not-So-OK Saloon”, a hilarious award winning Hollywood Fringe Festival musical in which I also originated the role. Other musical theater and operetta highlights include, among others, Jan (Grease), Ellen (Oklahoma!), Gianetta in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Gondoliers, Adele and “Allie”/Alfred (Die Fledermaus), Lisa (The Grand Duke), Lady Angela (Patience – DTL “Best Supporting Actress” award winner), Gertrude McFuzz (Seussical the Musical), Amy March (Little Women the Musical), Evita, and Guys and Dolls. Most notable opera roles include Musetta (La Bohème – DTL “Best Supporting Actress” award nominee), Miss Silverpeal (The Impresario), Giulietta (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Nella (Gianni Schicchi), and Dorabella (Così fan tutte). In the summer of 2021, I joined Mission Opera in the West Coast premiere of Offenbach’s rarely performed Le 66 as Grittly, and I have also appeared in several concerts, opera scenes, competitions (winning music scholarships and theater awards), and have worked as a soloist and section leader in churches, restaurants, and professional pop bands.
I received my Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Redlands in 2011, where I attended on a music talent scholarship. While I was a student at the University, I sang in the award winning Chapel Singers chamber ensemble under the direction of Jean-Sebastien Valleé. As a versatile artist, I’m also well known as a pop singer and have frequently performed with the jazz band, North Benched. I have been teaching private lessons for 15 years, and currently have over 40 active students.
