About Natalya Vladi Klimov
Natalya Klimov is the owner of the Classical Piano and Voice Studio in Portland, OR. She offers classes to both youth and adult students in piano, voice, music theory, and composition. Currently, the studio has more than 30 students.
Natalya and her students are proud to participate in many non-competitive festivals throughout the area, as well as compete and win at district, state, national, and international competitions. One of Natalya’s proudest moments as a teacher was seeing a student perform at Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as at the Berlin Philharmonie in Germany. She is also proud of all her students who glorify God’s name by performing at local churches and sharing their music in family homes.
Natalya is an active member of the Oregon Music Teachers Association (OMTA). She coordinates festivals for the East Portland chapter and serves as chairman of the State Baroque Festival, held in Salem, OR.
She has led various children’s choirs for more than 30 years in both Russia and the United States. She has also taught music theory, choir, and ORFF classes.
Natalya has had the privilege of working with the young and, at the time, relatively unknown Anna Netrebko at the Krasnodar Center of Arts for Youth in Russia. Her other professional experiences include teaching and working with organizations such as the Santa Barbara Music and Arts Conservatory in California, the Los Angeles Balalaika Orchestra in California, and the Happy Valley Arts Academy in Oregon.
Under Natalya’s direction, her students have received numerous awards and recognitions and have performed as part of the Young Soloists Concerts at the Santa Barbara Granada Theatre, San Marcos High School, and Westmont College. Her students have also been featured on a local television station.
Her students’ performances have included a community production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2015), Natalya’s own adaptation of Christmas Play (2016), Something for Miss Snowe (2018), an original production based on Charlotte Brontë’s Villette featuring a choir graduate as the principal composer and lead singer, and Christmas by Carols (2022).
Currently, Natalya continues to teach private piano and voice lessons at her Classical Piano and Voice Studio in Portland, OR.
