About Yuliya Brown
Dr. Yuliya Ugay Brown is an award-winning pianist, vocalist, and educator whose musical artistry bridges classical tradition, jazz, and contemporary styles. A native of Uzbekistan, she began performing at age thirteen with leading jazz ensembles and later became a full-time vocalist for the State Big Band of Uzbekistan.
Dr. Brown received her early training at the State Special Music Academic Lyceum and the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, where she studied Piano Performance on full scholarship. She continued her education in the United States, earning a Master of Music in Voice from Columbus State University and a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Mobile, both with full tuition awards. She went on to complete her Doctor of Musical Arts in Voice and Vocal Pedagogy at the University of Mobile.
From 2017 to 2022, Dr. Brown served on the faculty of the University of Mobile, teaching piano, voice, and collaborative piano. In addition to her collegiate work, she has maintained an active private studio, preparing students for successful auditions and careers in music.
Currently, Dr. Brown serves as the Director of Choir and Piano Studies at the Floretta P. Carson Visual & Performing Arts Academy, where she leads and mentors young artists in developing their musical skills and artistic expression. Her students consistently achieve recognition for excellence in performance and musicianship.
