Aiden Yu

Aiden Yu (13) started violin when he was three years old. He studies violin with Davis King at the Music Institute of Chicago. Aiden has sat as the concertmaster of the Preparatory Strings Orchestra , Debut Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, and Philharmonic Orchestra of Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras. He is currently a principal of Violin II of Symphony Orchestras of CYSO.

      Aiden has won 1st place in many violin competitions, including the 2022 Concorso International “Citta di Villafranca VR”, the 2022 Quebec Music Competition, the 2022 Mimas Festival, the 2022 & 2020 Society of American Musicians Competitions (Intermediate & Junior Divisions), the 2021 & 2020 Concerto Competitions of Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras, the 2021 Vivo International Music Competition, 2021 & 2019 Cremona International Competition for Strings (Intermediate & Junior Divisions), the 2021 Houston International Music Competition, the 2020 DePaul Concerto Competition, the 2019 Music Competition in Honor of Confucius, and the 2019 International Music Competition Brussels Grand Prize Virtuoso.  

Aiden has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, Museo del Violino in Cremona, Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels and Sala Alida Ferrarini in Villafranca, Italy.
