Alvin Wu Gao

Alvin Gao started to learn piano when he was younger than 5 years old. He learned piano with Tonya Pruhs, Luke Hancock and Professor Gary Amano of Utah State University. Now he is a student of Dr. Vera Watanabe. Alvin is a full scholarship student in the Gifted Music School Conservatory Division. He has won 1st place many times in the Salt Lake Piano Competition and USU Piano Festival. He earned 2nd place in the 2021 UMTA Concerto Competition and a finalist of 2021 Utah Symphony Salute to Youth. Recently, he has been selected by the Colburn school for this year’s Colburn piano seminar. He is also the semi finalist in Music International Grand Prix. Additionally, he was chosen to be a soloist for the Gifted Music School of Utah’s Spring Gala.
