Mabuhay,
I am Brandon Revilla, originally from Waikele, Hawai’i, coming from filipino descent, being raised by two immigrant parents from the Philippines. I am currently a 3rd year flute performance student at the University of North Texas College of Music, studying under Dr. Mary Karen Clardy. Currently living in Japan, I have been able to explore my flute experience by auditioning and participating in many competitions and festivals like Pacific Music Festival Sapporo and Asian Youth Orchestra. Although not truly accustomed to Texas culture, I have been blessed to be able to embrace the flute culture in the mainland of the US – participating in many competitions like (NFA Flute Masterclass competition, YYPA Flute Competition, and the Austin Society Collegiate flute competition). Back in Hawai’i, I was able to win the MTNA Senior Woodwind Division Competition (2020), and also was awarded 2nd prize in the New York Laureate International Music Competition. The University of North Texas College of music has been a great place to grow as a flutist, and Dr. Mary Karen Clardy has been the most caring and supportive person a part of my journey; I look forward to growing even more in the future!
Maraming Salamat Po,
Brandon Revilla
