Calvin Junsay is 17 years old and currently attends the Riverside STEM Academy. He has played the classical guitar for 11 years and is not only a musician but also a STEM scholar. He has won numerous guitar awards, most notably placing 3rd in the 2023 Boston GuitarFest International Guitar Competition. Other awards include 1st place in the 2023 ASTA Los Angeles Classical Guitar Competition, advancing to State, placing 2nd in the Adult Division in the 2022 Sierra Nevada Classical Guitar Competition, and also placing 2nd in the 2020 American String Teachers Association (ASTA) California Chapter State Solo Competition. He currently studies under Vasil Chekardzhikov. Calvin intends to pursue Classical Guitar Performance as his major while also pursuing pre-medicine.
