Charisma Kate Chow

Charisma Kate Chow embarked on her harp journey at the tender age of four in her hometown of Hong Kong. She currently studies under the guidance of Dr. Joy Yeh, Professor & Division Chair of the Vancouver Academy of Music. Prior to her relocation to Canada, she studied under Ann Huang, the principal harpist of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

In the current year, Charisma has won the Silver Medal, along with the Best Performance of a Canadian Composition Award, at the Vancouver International Music Competition in the string category (Young Talent age group of 9-12). Her extraordinary achievement places her among the youngest of contestants to achieve this remarkable dual distinction. Previously, she won the First Prize at the 10th Concours Français de la Harpe, the US Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition, the International Youth Competition Tokyo Final, the International Fringe Music Competition, and the 11th Hong Kong Virtuosos Music Competition.

Charisma wishes to pursue her dream of becoming a professional harpist. In addition, she also learns piano and composition to complete her musical training.
